Assessments and Evaluations

  • Comprehensive Speech-language Evaluations-A formal assessment consists of a 60-90 minute session with a Speech-Language Pathologist. The therapist speaks with the parent about the child’s present functioning level and her opinion as to the child’s need for services in that area. A formal evaluation includes a written report and standardized scoring of a child’s functioning level and recommendation as to whether or not services are necessary. The use of standardized assessment tools, non-standardized assessment tools, parent interviews, and clinical observations are used to assess the child’s performance. The actual evaluation usually takes approximately 90 minutes.

TeleTherapy

Our HIPPA compliant customized Zoom platform is

designed to deliver the same high-quality care as in-person sessions. Through secure video calls, our experienced pediatric Speech and Language
Therapists engage children in interactive and play-based activities, fostering communication skills in a fun and supportive way.

Supporting Schools with qualified therapists

We are experienced clinicians providing school-based therapy interventions in
the educational setting.  Linguistic Impressions understands the importance of
developing skills in conjunction with targeting core curriculum material.   We
strive to support success in the educational environment by providing ongoing
support to teachers, aides, and families.  Family members are encouraged to be
involved and home activities are suggested to ensure therapy success in each
unique family environment.

 We look forward to expanding our reach and are capable of supporting
schools remotely via a Telehealth platform as well. Through our services,
students receive school-wide speech-language screenings, appropriate
evaluations that properly assess their developmental skills, and an
individualized, educationally based therapy program incorporating all
members of the student’s educational team.

If speech-language therapy is indicated based on our evaluations or based on referrals from other agencies, the service will be provided in the best environment to insure optimal outcomes. Therapy may be conducted in a one-to-one setting or in a group based on the child's specific needs.
